Here's a little quote taken from our Trip Advisor page:

"My husband and I are 60, so I was a little worried that we might not be physically up for the challenge. However, the staff was amazing and helped us feel that we could do it."

Fun fact: The oldest climber we've had conquer the Blue Ridge Course so far is 87!  We have experiences for almost any age and ability- check out all that we have to offer below.

Getting Started

When you first walk in the doors of our yurt basecamp we have a couple of things we need from you to get started.  We need to make sure all participants have waivers filled out (anyone 18 years or older must fill out their own; or if the participant is under 18 years the waiver must be filled out by a parent or legal, court-appointed guardian).  We also need to make sure all participants meet requirements (under 265 lbs and no concerning medical problems), have closed-toe shoes on and have emptied their pockets, mouths (no gum or candy), and bladders (use the restroom!).  Once all of that is complete and you have been given your wristband ticket you will be placed in the soonest Gear Up session, which we have scheduled for every 20 minutes.  In your Gear Up, you will be provided with a full-body harness and a helmet.  If you are experiencing either the Blue Ridge Course or Foothills Course you will also be provided with what we call "lobster claws".  These lobster claws are Bornack SSBs (Smart Safety Belays) which connect you to the steel belay cables above each element on the aerial course.  They are designed to only allow you to remove one claw from the belay cables at a time.  This is what makes it possible for you to self-navigate the course!  For those of you using these lobster claws on either the Blue Ridge Course or Foothills Course, you will be taken into a Ground School after your Gear Up session.  In this Ground School, we teach you how to use that equipment to navigate the course successfully before you are set free to explore.

Blue Ridge Course

The Blue Ridge Course is that huge structure reaching into the sky that catches your eye from the highway.  This course has 3 different levels of difficulty with a total of 75 unique elements, rappelling stations and climbing stations.  Tickets come with a lifetime of 3 hours which gives you more than enough time to explore and take breaks as needed down on our Observation Deck.  You can choose to come back down to the ground for these breaks using one of our rappel stations located on the top level or you can simply walk back down the steps at the entrance of the park.  At High Gravity Adventures, we are all about "choose your own adventure".  You can come out and explore just the first level of the course, or if you are feeling a bit braver, you can work your way up to the higher and more difficult levels.  It's ALL up to you.

On this course, the belay cables are at a height of just over 6 feet above each platform.  This is designed to be above head height for adults and young adults, but low enough that climbers can reach the cables to maneuver effectively.  Adventures on this course can start at the age of 7.  Children ages 7-10, "Juniors", are not typically quite tall enough to reach the cables here so we require an Adult to partner up with them while they are exploring.  That Adult will assist the Junior with transfers as the duo reach each platform and make decisions on where to go next.  Children ages 11+ are typically tall enough to maneuver on their own.

Foothills Course

The Foothills Course is a smaller version of our Blue Ridge Course at 15 ft off the ground.  It is a one-level course and is designed for the youngest adventurers starting at the age of 4.  These tickets also come with a lifetime of 3 hours, giving your little ones more than enough time to explore and take breaks as needed down on our Observation Deck.  They can choose to come back down to the ground for these breaks by simply walking back down the steps at the entrance of the park.  The belay cables on this course are at a height of just over 4 feet above each platform so that younger children are able to reach the cables and maneuver on their own.  While adults are also able to go on this course, the lower cables will require a little more ducking and diving for them.

Three-Person Giant Swing

The Three-Person Giant Swing was just added in July 2016.  For this experience you are outfitted in a full-body harness and a helmet.  Anywhere from 1-3 people can ride the Giant Swing at a time, and you choose the height you would like to swing from.  At maximum height you are pulled up to approximately 45 ft in the air.  When you are ready to swing, one of the riders pulls a rip-cord that releases the swing to send you flying.  We dare you to try and not scream!

Ninja Ground Course

The Ninja Ground Course consists of four elements similar to what you would see on the TV show "American Ninja Warrior".  It has 45° walls to try running across, over-under logs to navigate, monkey rings to swing between, and an up-down net to scamper over.  You can go solo and have someone time you, or you can race side-by-side against a friend to see who is the best ninja!
