Here's a little quote taken from our Trip Advisor:

"My husband and I are 60, so I was a little worried that we might not be physically up for the challenge. However, the staff was amazing and helped us feel that we could do it."

Fun fact: The oldest climber (so far) we've had conquer the Blue Ridge Course is 87!  We have experiences available for most ages and abilities.

Getting Started

Show up 15 minutes before your reservation time, with (1) Waivers filled out (2) Pockets empty (3) Mouths empty- no gum or candy and (4) Bladders empty- use the restroom!  We will give you your wristbands and give you any more in-the-moment info you need before you get pulled in for your Gear-Up session.

Gear-Up

Ninja Ground Course

There is no Gear Up session if you are enjoying the Ninja Ground Course only.  After you have your wristband, you are all set to go!

Giant Swing

In your Gear Up, you will be provided with a full-body harness and a helmet.  The HGA staff member conducting your gear-up will instruct you on how to wear the harness and helmet, and will do a hands-on check to confirm all straps are adequately tightened. You will then be directed straight out to the Giant Swing where another staff member will instruct you further.

Foothills or Blue Ridge Course

In your Gear Up, you will be provided with a full-body harness and a helmet as well as what we call "lobster claws".  These lobster claws are Bornack SSBs (Smart Safety Belays) which connect you to the steel belay cables above each element on the aerial courses.  Once geared up, you will be walked out underneath the course for a short Ground School orientation.

High Altitude Zip Line Tour with Free-Fall

In your Gear Up, you will be provided with a full-body harness, a helmet, a set of what we call "lobster claws", and a trolley. These lobster claws are Bornack SSBs (Smart Safety Belays) which secure you to the steel zip line cables.  The trolley is a Falcon Mini and is placed on the steel zip line cables to take you from tree to tree on the tour.  Once geared up, you will be shuttled to the start of our zip line tour for a short Ground School orientation.

Ground School

Ninja Ground Course

There is no Ground School session if you are enjoying the Ninja Ground Course only.

Giant Swing

There is no Ground School session if you are riding the Giant Swing only.

Foothills or Blue Ridge Course

In your Ground School, we will tell you what you need to know to navigate the course successfully.  We will educate you on the lobster claws and how they work on the course.  These lobster claws are designed to only allow you to remove one claw from the belay cables at a time, which is what makes it possible for you to self-navigate the course!  This ground school takes approximately 20-25 minutes (give or take a little, depending on the size of your Ground School group) and will also get you familiar with using your lobster claws before heading up into the air.

High Altitude Zip Line Tour with Free-Fall

In your Ground School at the top of the tour, we will tell you a bit about our equipment and what to expect on the tour before getting started.  This Ground School takes approximately 5-10 minutes.

The Adventure

Ninja Ground Course

The Ninja Ground Course consists of four elements similar to what you would see on the TV show "American Ninja Warrior".  It has 45° walls to try running across, over-under logs to navigate, monkey rings to swing between, and an up-down net to scamper over.  You can go solo and have someone time you, or you can race side-by-side against a friend to see who is the best ninja!

Three-Person Giant Swing

The Three-Person Giant Swing was added in July 2016.  Anywhere from 1-3 people can ride the Giant Swing at a time, and you choose the height you would like to swing from.  At maximum height you are pulled up to approximately 45 ft in the air, which makes for a thrilling initial drop.  When you are ready to swing, one of the riders pulls a rip-cord that releases the swing to send you flying.  We dare you to try and not scream!

Foothills Course

The Foothills Course is a smaller version of our Blue Ridge Course at 15 ft off the ground.  It is a one-level course and is designed for the youngest adventurers starting at the age of 4.  These tickets come with a lifetime of 3 hours, giving your little ones more than enough time to explore and take breaks as needed down on our Observation Deck.  They can choose to come back down to the ground for these breaks by simply walking back down the steps at the entrance of the park.  The belay cables on this course are at a height of just over 4 feet above each platform so that younger children are able to reach the cables and maneuver on their own.  While adults are also able to go on this course, the lower cables will require a little more ducking and diving to maneuver.

Blue Ridge Course

The Blue Ridge Course is that huge structure reaching into the sky that catches your eye from the highway.  This course has 3 different levels of difficulty with a total of 75 unique elements, rappelling stations and climbing stations.  Tickets come with a lifetime of 3 hours which gives you more than enough time to explore and take breaks as needed down on our Observation Deck.  You can choose to come back down to the ground for these breaks using one of our rappel stations located on the top level or you can simply walk back down the steps at the entrance of the park.  At High Gravity Adventures, we are all about "choose your own adventure".  You can come out and explore just the first level of the course, or if you are feeling a bit braver, you can work your way up to the higher up and more difficult levels.  It's ALL up to you!

On this course, the belay cables are at a height of just over 6 feet above each platform.  This is designed to be above head height for most adults and young adults, but low enough that climbers can reach the cables to maneuver effectively.  Adventures on this course can start at the age of 7.  Children ages 7-10, "Juniors", are not typically quite tall enough to reach the cables here so we require an Adult to partner up with them while they are exploring.  That Adult will assist the Junior with transfers as the duo reach each platform and make decisions on where to go next.  Adults and Children ages 11+ are typically tall enough to maneuver on their own.

High Altitude Zip Line Tour with Free-Fall

The Zip Line tour lasts approximately 2-2.5 hours and takes you exploring through the gorgeous forest above Tweetsie Railroad and High Gravity Adventures.  You start your adventure at a beautiful treehouse hidden in the woods and go through a series of zip lines with one guide leading the way and another one bringing up the caboose of the group.  You also get to walk over a swinging sky bridge high above the rhododendron trees.  This tour is a hands-free tour for guests, although it uses the same Bornack SSB lobster claws that guests actively use on the Foothills or Blue Ridge Courses.  Your guides will do all of the transferring and braking for you here, meaning you get to just sit back and enjoy the experience.  The tour emerges from the woods and culminates in a 1,000 ft long zip line over the Tweetsie Railroad trestle and into the top (4th level deck) of our Blue Ridge Course.  How do you get back down to the ground, you ask?  You step off a platform for a heart-pumping 70 ft "Free Fall" experience down through the center cell of the Blue Ridge Course!
